Historian, Broadcaster, Educator
One of the UK’s most exciting military historians, Andy Robertshaw reveals what life was like on the frontline of history. Andy provides a unique, interactive illustration of military life for groups of all ages. He is a world-renowned expert on the First World War, and on trench warfare and medicine in the trenches, in particular. HIs most recent, and possibly the most ambitious project to date, is the setting up of the Centre for Experimental Military Archaeology (CEMA) at the Kent County Showground at Detling, near Maidstone, Kent which features a replica First World War one trench (See photo below) (See CEMA and Trench Experience pages for more details). The trench is now open for half-day school/army group visits. Andy also acts as a military adviser on big-screen films like War Horse and 1917. This year has seen him on location in Hungary and Croatia for a forthcoming film, the details of which we cannot yet reveal!
